Uzbekistan to Increase Prize Money for Chess Players

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed Resolution No. PQ–346 on September 21, 2026, titled “On measures to provide worthy incentives to winners and prize-winners of prestigious international chess competitions and their coaches.”

Under the resolution, one-time cash awards for Uzbek chess players who win or place in prestigious international chess competitions will be increased.

Higher payments will also be provided to the coaches of athletes who achieve strong results at international events.

The resolution approves the new amounts of cash awards for chess players and their coaches.
