Uzbekistani woman dies in Istanbul from medication poisoning

On September 19, 2026, Uzbek citizen M.M. died in Istanbul as a result of poisoning from a pharmaceutical product. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

According to the report, the woman had been treated at home with the help of unofficial doctors during her illness. As a result of the side effects of the medications taken during treatment, her condition worsened, she developed a blood infection, and a severe reaction was observed in her body.

Nevertheless, she was not taken to hospital in time, and treatment at home continued.

When her condition became critical, she was first taken to Marmara Hospital. Since it was not possible to admit her to the intensive care unit there, she was transferred to Kartal District Hospital.

Despite the necessary medical treatment provided by doctors, it was not possible to save the woman's life.

The deceased's body was returned to Uzbekistan through the joint efforts of the Consulate General and the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Consulate General urged compatriots in Turkey to take responsibility for their health. In particular, it advised against taking medication without a doctor's recommendation and against being treated by unofficial persons who lack the appropriate qualifications.

It also stressed that, in the event of a sharp deterioration in health, people should not waste time and should turn to official medical institutions.
