Uzbek banker placed on Interpol wanted list

Muminjon Yuldashev was a major shareholder and chairman of the supervisory board of Madad Invest Bank (now MyBank).
Interpol has issued a Red Notice against Yuldashev. The businessman is accused under Part 3 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code, i.e. embezzlement or misappropriation through plunder.

This is not his first international "blacklisting."
In 2019, the World Bank barred Yuldashev from participating in its projects for 4 years.
The reason: he allegedly threatened a representative of a competing company to force it to withdraw its bid in a tender for a water supply project in Syrdarya.

So what happens to MyBank now?
For now, there are no changes at the bank. MyBank continues operating and its license remains valid. Yuldashev's name does not appear among MyBank's current leadership, according to the bank.
