Births in Uzbekistan decline
A total of 638,628 live births were registered in Uzbekistan between January and September 2026. This is nearly 26,000 fewer than during the same period last year.

According to the National Statistics Committee, Samarkand Region recorded the highest number of births, with 77,537 babies born over the nine-month period.
Kashkadarya Region ranked second with 72,508 births, followed by Fergana Region with 71,437.
The lowest figures were recorded in Syrdarya Region, with 15,377 births, and Navoi Region, with 17,533.
