Number of Students Aged 40 and Over in Uzbekistan Exceeds 53,000

The number of citizens aged 40 and over pursuing higher education in Uzbekistan has increased significantly in recent years.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, 53,483 students aged 40 and over are studying at higher education institutions in the 2025/2026 academic year.

This figure is 52,867 higher than the number recorded in the 2010/2011 academic year.

2019/2020 — 9,751;

2025/2026 — 53,483.

The most notable growth has occurred since the 2022/2023 academic year. Over two years, the number of students in this age group increased from 20,247 to 53,483.
