Yandex Go to Shut Down Its Market Section on November 10

Yandex Go is restructuring its e-commerce operations in Uzbekistan. Starting November 10, 2026, the Market section within the app will cease operating. This means users will no longer be able to order products that require several days for delivery. Instead, the company plans to focus its resources on expanding express delivery services through its Stores and Yandex Lavka platforms.

According to Yandex Uzbekistan's press service, orders through the Market section will be accepted until November 10. All orders placed by that date will be processed and delivered to their recipients. Customer support will also continue assisting users and partners with issues related to orders and the use of the service.

How will product sales through the taxi app change?

The closure of the Market section does not mean that ordering products through Yandex Go will disappear entirely. According to the company's plans, users will still be able to order groceries, electronics, cosmetics, household goods and other products through the Stores and Lavka services.

The main difference lies in delivery times. Market previously allowed customers to purchase products that generally required longer delivery periods. Under the new approach, priority will be given to services designed to deliver products in as little as 15 minutes.

According to the company, the number of orders placed through its Stores and Lavka services tripled in 2026 compared with 2025. This growth is cited as one of the factors behind the company's decision to place greater emphasis on the express delivery segment.

500 partners, 10 dark stores and more than 100 products

According to Yandex Uzbekistan, the number of partners working with its Stores service has nearly doubled over the past year, reaching 500.

Yandex Lavka, which was launched in Uzbekistan in autumn 2024, has expanded to 10 dark stores. Its range of products under its own brand has exceeded 100 items.

Dark stores are warehouse-style retail facilities that are not open to customers for in-person shopping. They are primarily used to prepare online orders and hand products over to delivery couriers.

The company is also offering alternative partnership opportunities to businesses that previously worked with Market. Sellers interested in express delivery can consider partnering with the Stores or Lavka services.

How did Market enter the Uzbek market?

In December 2024, Yandex submitted four applications to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Justice to register the Yandex Market trademarks. One application included the name Yandex Market, while the others featured the name Market Yandex Go.

In April 2025, Yandex Uzbekistan launched its e-commerce platform. Customers could place orders through the Yandex Go app or the market.yandex.uz website.

Initially, the service operated in Tashkent and selected areas of the Tashkent Region. Its geographical coverage subsequently expanded, with reports indicating that the platform was operating in nine regions by the summer of 2025.

The platform offered a range of products, including electronics, household appliances, home improvement supplies, clothing, footwear and beauty products.

What does this decision mean?

The discontinuation of the Market section does not mean that all Yandex Go services in Uzbekistan are shutting down. Instead, the company is changing its product delivery model and placing greater emphasis on express orders.

In effect, an e-commerce model based on delivery over several days is giving way to services designed to deliver products within a much shorter period. The company's own statistics also indicate that order volumes have increased in this particular segment.

However, further details have not yet been published regarding the future activities of all sellers that worked with Market, potential changes to partnership terms or the future of the service's infrastructure.
