Turkey plans to fully ban tobacco product sales by 2040

According to the draft law, starting January 1, 2040, a complete ban is envisaged on selling and providing tobacco products to others for consumption.

The bill also proposes measures such as introducing an electronic age-verification system for tobacco sales, restricting product visibility in stores, and banning smoking in the open areas of cafes and restaurants.

The bill is planned to be discussed at the Presidential Complex in September, reviewed by the ruling party's parliamentary group in October, and brought to the parliament's agenda in November.
