Trump Warns of Further Action Against Iran

US President Donald Trump has hinted at further action against Iran. His remarks came amid reports that Washington and Tel Aviv had discussed a possible new major military operation against Tehran.

Trump Warns of Further Action Against Iran

Trump spoke at a campaign rally in Wasilla, Alaska, on Tuesday, where he was campaigning in support of Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

“Wait till you see what we do to Iran,” Trump told supporters.

He reiterated that Iran must not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

His remarks followed a report by Axios stating that Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had discussed launching a major new operation against Iran.

Citing two US officials and other sources familiar with the matter, Axios reported that the discussions took place before Trump publicly said the United States would not strike Iran before the US midterm elections.

The US congressional midterm elections are scheduled for November 3.

Afghanistan on the Geopolitical Chessboard of the Middle East

Against the backdrop of this dangerous crisis, with the international community’s attention focused on the direct participants in the conflict, Gaza, Libya, and Syria, it is appropriate to turn attention to Afghanistan, which, despite its peripheral position relative to the region, is also becoming involved in these processes. Israel and Iran seek to expand their spheres of influence both ideologically and strategically. In this context, South and Central Asia, including Afghanistan, are becoming key zones of geopolitical rivalry, especially for Iran.
