G7 Fully Supports Israel – Media Reports

On June 16, the Group of Seven (G7) countries jointly announced their full support for Israel and labeled Iran as a source of instability in the Middle East. The G7 leaders also called for de-escalation between the two nations. This was reported by Reuters news agency.

G7 Fully Supports Israel – Media Reports

Tensions escalated further after Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian territory last Friday. The situation, already strained due to military operations in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, has now reached a new level of crisis.

“We are committed to easing the overall tension in the Middle East and to achieving a ceasefire in Gaza,” the G7 summit declaration stated.

Israel described its airstrikes on Iran as a preemptive strike, aiming to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Since then, hostilities between the two countries have continued. According to Iranian officials, more than 220 people — mostly civilians — have been killed in the attacks. Israel has reported 24 casualties among its citizens.

Iran’s government has denied seeking nuclear weapons, insisting it is pursuing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, including uranium enrichment.

Israel, however, is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and is widely believed to be the only country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons.

French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada early due to the worsening situation in the Middle East and returned to Washington.

However, Trump denied that his early departure had anything to do with the Iran-Israel conflict. He claimed the reason was due to an issue even bigger than the current tensions:

“Macron said I left the G7 summit in Canada to return to Washington to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. That’s false! He doesn’t know why I’m going back. But it has absolutely nothing to do with a ceasefire. It’s something much bigger. Whether intentionally or not, Emmanuel is always wrong,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social page.

The U.S. has so far stated that it is not directly involved in Israel’s attacks on Iran. Nonetheless, Trump declared on

Friday that the U.S. has supported the actions from the beginning, calling the airstrikes “an excellent move.”

On Monday, one of Israel’s strikes reportedly hit Iran’s state television building. Trump posted on social media:

“Everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately.”

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held phone discussions on Monday with officials from the United

Kingdom, France, and the European Union to discuss the unfolding Iran-Israel war.

According to Washington, Trump still aims to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran.

Afghanistan on the Geopolitical Chessboard of the Middle East

Against the backdrop of this dangerous crisis, with the international community’s attention focused on the direct participants in the conflict, Gaza, Libya, and Syria, it is appropriate to turn attention to Afghanistan, which, despite its peripheral position relative to the region, is also becoming involved in these processes. Israel and Iran seek to expand their spheres of influence both ideologically and strategically. In this context, South and Central Asia, including Afghanistan, are becoming key zones of geopolitical rivalry, especially for Iran.

In the modern era, nationalist sentiment in India has significantly intensified. On one hand, the rise of this nationalist policy is bringing India closer to states that are implementing similar systems — such as the United States, many European countries, and Israel — thereby fostering stronger alliances.
