A major international human rights conference is underway in Warsaw

The Warsaw Human Dimension Conference 2026, an international conference dedicated to human rights and democracy, is taking place in Warsaw.

The event, held in the Polish capital from October 5 to 15, brings together OSCE participating states, international organizations, civil society, human rights defenders and journalists. More than 1,800 people are attending.

The conference is organized by the Swiss OSCE Chairpersonship for 2026, with the support of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). Discussions cover human rights, the rule of law, media freedom, democratic elections, gender equality, freedom of assembly and association, and the fight against discrimination.

On October 7, the conference also addresses peaceful protests and the monitoring of human rights defenders. The session focuses on how artificial intelligence, automated image analysis and data-processing technologies affect civic space.

Today's program also includes a special interactive session on how artificial intelligence, social media and commercial interests shape young people's online lives.

The conference continues until October 15.
